I am going to mount my tv on the wall. I wanted to just have the tv on the wall and nothing else there (maybe a small table). I have access to the room behind it (laundry room). I plan on buying an IR kit

Here is what I would like to know:

1) can i run a stranded cable (tv power) through a recessed low voltage box to a surge protector as well as my AV cables (HDMI, Wii and PS2).

2) I know that the Wii is more or less a remote control type thing so I can put that in laundry as well. But the PS2 is another story. Can I use IR and wireless PS2 controlers and hide that too?

If you are thinking of using your TVs power cable to run through the wall -- probably against code. If you have power on that wall, consider using that to "extend" a new outlet.
