So you will have to excuse me if this information can be found easily, and I'm just dumb. I've been searching on the internet for a little while, as well as searching through some of the past threads on this forum, but without any luck.
Basically, a few months ago, I got a Samsung HL-61A750 DLP television. One of the specs for this unit that sold me on getting it was that it did Picture in Picture. I have a buddy with a TV that'll do just that, and I enjoyed being able to have a split screen between the football game and, say, a Playstation game we were playing.
Anyway, turns out that while this is an excellent TV, the Picture in Picture capability is limited to its own OTA/Cable receiver. Seeing as I have a TivoHD receiving my digital cable from Cox, this PIP capability is a moot point.
I read several days ago about a Sony AV Receiver, the STR-DA5200ES, that will perform Picture in Picture on any of its inputs. I know that this particular receiver is not new, so this capability should be available in other receivers as well. However, as I search online, and even the spec sheets for different AV receivers, I cannot find this particular feature.
Could anyone point me in the right direction for a mid-range AV Receiver that does 5.1 sound (7.1 is overkill for me), and can do Picture in Picture? Thank you greatly in advance!
