Hello everyone!
I love music. Unfortunately, I have had to deal with listening to my music through a Klipsch ProMedia 2.1 computer speaker set-up. My source is my PC with SoundBlaster XP Platinum sound card and I play my songs from iTunes.
I was recently given a used Yamaha RX-V2095 and am eager to begin my own personal descent into audio component hell. Please help me on my journey!
My main goal at this point is to listen to music at the highest quality I can, but starting with the Yamaha receiver. If, down the road, I decide to upgrade the receiver, fine, but right now I'm going to use it as a starting point.
So, what do I need? What will get me the biggest bang for my buck with regard to sound reproduction. My budget is somehwhere in the $1200 to $1800 range, though I would be willing to go higher (on speakers, especially) if it makes sense.
I am not looking for a home theater system at this point, though that could come later. So right now, all I have is a decent, though several generations old, receiver and a PC with iTunes. Any thoughts on where I should spend my money?
Thanks in advance!
