i am having a problem with my htpc audio setup

i have a realtek hd audio onboard soundcard connected through spdif to my amplifier. now i can either choose to setup the realtek speaker setup to 5.1 (dts it is called in the realtek config) .

In this setup i get hdwmv in dts and all dvd's in 5.1 or dts (as expected) but also all stereo is converted to DTS

When i change the speaker setup to stereo, it still plays the dvd's ok in 5.1 and DTS , offcourse also the stereo is ok now, however hdwmv is only in stero now.

I tried several codecs , also ac3filter, with this last filter and the first setup(dts speaker settings) i can get stereo when i play a file and open ac3filter. then change the output format from as is to a multi speaker setup and then back to as is then the sound is stereo but after closing and playing a new file it is incorrect again.


someone any advice ?
