TV: Samsung ln52a650, 52inches 65 pounds
Mount: Monoprice Item 3900 (Max 165Lbs, 37~63inch)

Studs are 24 inches apart on the wall and the option for mount placement is left of center on the wall. The mount spans 32 inches, therefore the only way for me to center the TV on the wall is to slide it all the way to the right on the mount. I don't see this being an issue but definately want to confirm, I imagine these mounts are built this way for a reason and shouldn't give me any issues. In fact, I think the studs being 24 inches apart will help overall weight distribution. What other options do I have to secure this without opening the walls?

Any help is appreciated.

Should be OK... I have not used this mount, but some of the beefy mounts I have used, you could slide it very far one way or the other by design. I'd be more concerned if you were pushing the load rating a little more.

IMHO: I would not mount a $3k TV with a substandard mount. I have a 46" sammy in my living hung with a Premier Mount. I would not skimp on the mount.
I understand monoprice is a forum sponsor, but I would stick to buying cables from them.

Well not to add confusion, I can see peoples agruements on cables, in that spending more money is obviously better. Although, when it comes to mounts for TV's, unless you plan on getting some sort of cantilever swing out from underneath the bed and fluff your pillows mount, there is absoulutely no reason to but an expensive mount. Mounts are mounts (with the exception above). Or unless you need one NOW and cant wait.

I am a metal fabricator my trade. The mount I chose for my 52" Aquos, was a cheap $1 + $15 shipping mount from ebay. Surpringly good quality, and very sturdy. I would guess the mount is either 11 or 12 ga material. My only regret on the cheap mount was that I didnt get the mount in black (slipped my mind). I plan on getting 2 more 37" LCD's and plan on using the same mount.

As far as you stud problem, I too had a problem. Although mine where 16 on center, I wanted to hit all 3 studs. In order for me to center the TV and mount I would have only been able to use 2 studs, which would have been fine, but those 2 studs where off center on the wall. Putting the mount on the wall in the location that I wanted, it would have put one stud 3-4" off the center of the mount and the other close to edge of the mount. That would have left one side of the mount unsupported. This didnt sit very well for me. Luckily I had access to the back side of the wall. All I did was run 2 2x4's lengthwise in between the wall studs. This gave me something to bolt the opposite side of the mount too. To test it out I grab the mount lifted myself on it, Im about 265 and didnt budge.

So to make a long story short. I would go for the monoprice mount.

Have you used the Mono-Price mount? Harsh comment about it if not.

I have used the monoprice mount to hang a 40" sammy and I wasn't satisfied with the stability so unless they have drastically changed their product line, I will not use them again.
I don't feel the above comment was at all harsh. You get what you pay for!
