Two teams going nowhere this year. they may have to start the flex schedule at the mid-point.

After two weeks, you make a statement like that?
The NYG where 0-2 last year and won the Super Bowl!

MNF cannot do flex scheduling. Has never been able to, most likely will not be able to. Rescheduling a game from Sunday to Monday just wouldn't work logistically. It's a huge debacle to move a game from Sunday afternoon to Sunday night in some situations (and they have plenty of warning). Also NBC has Flex but CBS and FOX can still retain the rights to certain key games if they choose. That being said Jets Chargers was probably never going to be a good game, but now that Favre is in the mix it may not matter.

Nah, just being honest. This might be the Bills year though!

Thats why some of their games can be real stinkeroos the latter half of the season but NBC can at least attempt to make it interesting.

WWOR-DT is showing the game in the NYC DMA. Don't know what the blackout restrictions might be on ESPN HD.

Attempt is a good word because even they have struggled here and there with some flex matchups that turned out to be duds. Last year MNF actually got lucky with a few games that should've been awful but turned out to be good games. Dolphins/Steelers, Cowboys/Bills and Patriots/Ravens were especially good games no one expected last year. That ESPN Axis thing is very cool. Combining all the camera angles.

ESPN-HD definitely looks better than WWOR-DT.

Some miscommunication. Tirico threw to the starting lineups across the bottom score bar at the same time Bristol inserted the 18/58. Good quick call by the AD at the last minute to not run the lineups that would've been ugly.

Watching on Dish, some of the long shots are over compressed but overall PQ is very good.

Its funny of the last four Monday NIGHT football games, they've all been day or afternoon games.

Didn't really notice it until you mentioned it, but that shouldn't be a problem next week since the game in New Orleans, played in a dome.

Of course since I'm in Hawaii, all games are day or afternoon games. :)

Note about the game, not well played but entertaining.

It is more than 1/8 in the picture above. Please enlighten me, why is this done?that's 1080i, for whatever reason, TWC (i believe) broadcasts espn hd in 1080i instead of 720p

on ESPN HD the scoreline starts at the 600th pixel out of 720, which takes up 17% of the screen, whatever fraction that is

1/6 = .1667 = 16.67% So this graphic actually takes up slightly more than 1/6 of the screen.

yea you're right my TV is overscanning. So it appears smaller than it actually is. It's slightly bigger than the Fox Box.

I won't tarnish this thread with any more discussion on the matter as I just went and found the appropriate thread for it. Let the record show that as a long-time member, I have not been to AVSForum for quite some time now. However, I had to log on tonight to see what people had to say about this graphic covering up 1/6 of the broadcast. This is the absolute worst waste of screen space that I have ever seen on an NFL broadcast. Fox and NBC are not great, but this is absolutely terrible. If there is no information being displayed in the graphic area, it should not be covering up 1/6 of my screen. Period.

I had my say in the first week of ESPN's MNF. My LCD has 3% overscan so during MNF I adjuat the picture lower to make the bar lower than it normally is. That said, the bottom bar has grown on me, still would prefer more of screen back. But the actual game field that ESPN presents is very clean, other than down and distance contains no pop-ups, etc.. When ESPN does it's 18/58 update, keep it with the covered screen area. In some ways I wish ESPN would standarize this look for it's CFB games as well.
Just my 2 cents and that's that.

There are no blackout restrictions. The game is simulcast on local stations for the two teams involved for those who don't have cable or satellite.

Uh, if the game had not been sold out in San Diego then it would have been blacked out on BOTH ESPN and the ABC affiliate (KGTV). The only place the blackout restriction would have applied.
