All,

I am doing some stage production work for a band and we want to have 4 TV sets on stage playing video content that is, for the most part, the same, but at times things will scroll across stage. Example; man walks from one TV, appears in the next... words scroll across the 4 TV's, etc...

Came up with a low budget method which would be 4 small DVD players, queued up to use a single remote to start play on all of them, but would like a more sure fire high tech solution.

I've seen this done at some amusement parks... how do the pros do it? I would imagine some sort of digital interface on a computer that has multiple copies of QuickTime, VLC or the like open and each specifies a specific video output path?

Help!

It's usually one video just split onto the 4 screens. Everything else (multiple videos) will hardly be 100% synchronous.

There are videowall processors which will do the splitting for you.

Maybe I didn't explain correctly...

One example I saw was a video guided tour where the host walked from one screen to another about 20 feet across the room followed by birds flying from one screen to the other.

yes I know. And it's still one video (produced in the proper double-screen widescreen ratio) which is spawned onto two or more screens by an external processor. Try google for "video wall processor".

For 2 or 3 screens next to each other this can be done relatively easy with a graphics card with 2 or 3 video headers and the appropriate connectors (and maybe scan-converters behind them). But anyway you do it, it's still ONE video ;)

Got it..... I was under the impression it was multiple videos that just lined up when started at the same time.

I assume things like Final Cut Pro support creating video into double or triple wide format?

Any recommendations on budget video wall processors that can be had on eBay?

I'l be using old CRT's TV's, so RF would be nice.
