Surprised there wasn't already a topic on this, but 'Worst Week' premiered tonight at 9:30 after "Two and a Half Men" on CBS. The biggest star of this one is Kurtwood Smith(That 70s Show, Dead Poet's Society, Robocop). Had to DVR this one because Prison Break is on at 9 as well. Just finished watching it and I hope this one is a keeper for CBS. This Pilot episode is the hardest I've laughed at a new comedy in a long, long time!

Dead Poet's Society? Are you serious?

That should have read "That 70's Show, Robocop." Jeez. ;)

Yeah, That 70s Show is listed. DPS came to mind just because another current FOX star (Robert Sean Leonard of House) was also in the film.

I haven't seen the entire episode yet but the intro did not seem to have a laugh track.

i thought it was funny, but i have to worry about the longevity of the show. Can they really have life sh*t on this guy every single week? how can they keep that fresh?

Thats why it is good I kept my old DirecTiVo when I got the new D* DVR. 4 tuners. But sometimes that still isnt enough. Mondays, Wednesdays and Thursdays has alot of good TV on cable and Networks.

Great idea but I just brought my old Tivo and other electronics to have recycled. No big deal I can hardly find time to watch the shows I have set up on season pass as it is.

+1. Although I did watch the entire show, I deleted it from my PVR recording list about 10 minutes into the show.

Man, I laughed so hard I couldn't stand it! When he was screaming into the phone, "He's dead! He's dead!", with the mother wailing in the background, I barely could stand it!

I thought it was interesting the show didn't have a laugh track. Maybe there have been examples on CBS of no laugh track comedies in the past, but I've always thought of them as the big holdout.

That said, IMHO, Worst Week is awful. It's just too mean to be funny. I didn't find myself laughing at the situations, but rather feeling bad for the character.

Bad things can happen to a character in a comedy and be funny. See "Curb Your Enthusiasm."

This just seemed like one after another of raining (literally) on the guy. A TV comedy that can only get a smile out of me, not even a chuckle? I think it will die a quick death.

Didn't miss much? You missed everything!!! I admit this show did start off slow, real slow. I saw a great preview in the CBS Fall Preview show(which basically was the first episode chopped up into clips) and it was the first time I laughed my a-- off at a preview. Once the show got going, it got going. From the incident in the kitchen to the 'he's dead' being shouted into the phone to the dragging in of an unconscious Kurtwood Smith(who the family thought was dead).

...Worst Week is awful. It's just too mean to be funny. I didn't find myself laughing at the situations, but rather feeling bad for the character...The show was really, really disappointing. I can't believe people are actually saying they laughed at this. I know what you mean by feeling bad for a character, but I couldn't even do that. The situations and the lead's reactions to them were just so over-the-top it was totally unbelievable.

For example, and there are many: Who would leave his co-worker's apartment without his clothes, phone, keys, and immediately jump into a cab wearing an impromptu diaper made of a (presumably) used trash bag only to head straight to his future in-laws' with whom his relationship is already strained?

He goes to take a leak at their house and ends up peeing in a pot with the uncooked goose in it? You're telling me that this house is so incredibly dark that this guy can't tell he's in a huge kitchen rather than a bathroom? A bathroom is much smaller, and has a door which one would close behind oneself. So he just walks into this large room and proceeds to relieve himself? If he can see the pot well enough to mistake it for the toilet, surely he'd have seen the refrigerator, the stove, island, etc. Why is this uncooked goose just sitting out in the middle of the kitchen? We're expected to believe this???

The candle in the basement: His one chance to "redeem" himself, and this horridly clichéd fire occurs with the painting. Which, by the way, sits in Kurtwood's character's basement, hidden only by a dropcloth draped over it, unnoticed by him. Come ON!!!

To those who only watched 10 minutes before quitting, find this episode on CBS.com. Skip ahead to about 11 or 12 minutes in and watch the rest of it. The pilot episode did start out slow and dull. I was disappointed with the beginning but it got much much better at the end.

The wife wanted to delete it after 10 minutes. I said, no, let's give it a chance.

The rest was awful too. It really didn't get better. See my reasons above.

To anyone who likes this show I would not get too attached to it. It totally bombed in the ratings last Monday, and the feedback on it has been horrible. I expect it to drop more next Monday, and there is no way CBS will keep a struggling show in their most lucrative time slot all week after Two and a Half Men and before CSI Miami. I expect it to be gone quickly.

I was about to say the same thing! I always hate it when I'm telling someone about a show or a joke, Worst Week is a perfect example, and they attack it by over thinking it.

Sigh, a horrible show like Two and a Half Idiots is the highest rated comedy, and a hillarious show like Worst Week gets no viewers. It's a great show! I laughed out loud several times during this show, something I haven't done since Frasier was on the air. Oh well, the mindless morons of the world get their shows on TV and their idiots elected to office, so what else is new.

Count me in as someone who laughed a couple of times, but turned it off after about 10 minutes. I just could not deal with the ridiculous scenarios. Not even considering the stupidity of going right to teh in-laws house, why did he even get himself into that situation to begin with?

First, he knows the in-laws hate him and he is planning on telling them about the engagement, yet he is so stupid he cannot keep himself in check at the party and leave on time, which he probably should not even be at to begin with?

Second, the girl was so drunk that she passed out and he decides it is a good idea to get into her shower? Then in a strange house, does not even look to see if there is a towel anywhere? Then even though she was so drunk that she threw herself at him, barfed, passed out and woke up wide awake with no recollection of what happened yet with no visible effect 10 minutes later (maybe it takes him an hour or 2 to shower)

I Liked Meet the Parents, but I just can't see this working as a series.

No one should waste their time getting attached to this show. One or two more weeks of ratings like it got this week, and it will be gone. It totally bombed in the ratings.

This show seems to be (loosely) based on a British sitcom named 'The Worst Week Of My Life' that aired on BBC America a while back.

I'm not attached to this and by the ratings no one else is apparently. I didn't think it was possible for a broadcast network comedy to be this funny after arrested development was canceled. While the shows are nothing alike both have that uncomfortable feeling that gives them some sort of edge that turns off J6P unfortunately.

This show will be banished someplace else soon and CBS will move "Christine" here to get the ratings back up/stronger lead in. The stupid music is enough not to watch this show. Kurtwood Smith is playing the same character basically from "That 70s Show"
