Is Leno in true 5.1 or just 2.0? I know I receive 5.1 from my local affiliate (KARE-DT in Minneapolis) but the audio mix is terrible. I get just as much dialog from the surrounds as the front. Local news braodcast is this way as well. I'm thinking they are doing some funky processing to go from 2.0 to 5.1 and it drives me crazy. So trying to find out if this is local or national issue.

Leno is 2.0. NBC network flags all material as 5.1 even if it's stereo or mono. They stopped using dynamic mode switching like CBS uses. There should be no center channel audio on Leno.

On WKYC Cleveland, it says 3/2.1 yet only front left and right work. That is also the way non-network programming is put through so I'd say it is two channel from the source. Conan is presented the same way.

Thanks for the feedback. We are getting what appears to be 5 channel stereo from our local affliate and it is annoying!
