I have a chance to pick up a pair of Titans v.2 that I was thinking of using for computer monitors. They seem to be in pretty good shape, but aren't they kind of outdated compared to what's out there now? Not that older speakers can't sound good, but there have been advances in speaker design since they were made, after all. I'm just wondering how they stack up to more modern or recent speakers, and how much people thought a pair of these might be worth.

I own a pair of V5's I think (the model just before the stopped the performance line and made them Monitor series). But from what I've heard is that even the V1's are great. Titans were always known as a best bang for your buck in the price range. Also speakers always get better in time as long as they are treated nicely. I think being the fact that they are used I would say you should be able to get a good deal on them. Have a listen to them first to see if there are any strange noises that could indicate speaker damage. I don't know what the price would go for though.
