A couple of months ago I commented on another DIY HT featured on ElectronicHouse.com. I was fairly critical (as were others) of the fact that it made the site due to its cluttered look, low quality equipment, and fairly high associated price tag. As a result of my comment, the writer inquired about my theater. I sent here a few snap shots and an equipment list and she was sufficiently impressed to write an article profiling my setup. I filled out a questionnaire, provided some higher-quality pictures, and last week the article was published on the website! When it first ran I was paranoid I might receive some overly-critical comments, mainly since I had left a critical comment that lead to my theater being profiled... luckily so far everything has been positive! Check the article out and let me know what you think, either here or in the comments there!

hey stephen, I have a bonus room exactly the same dimension as yours, what is your first row seating distance?

I think it's right at 13', considering I have 15' wall to wall, the seats are about 1' off the wall to allow for recline, and the screen is 1' off the wall on the pitched ceiling. With a 100" screen it's right at 1.5:1 ratio, perfect for HD content which is 80% of what I watch in this room.

Congratulations on being featured. They did a nice job with the photography and description.

The photography was my own (and not my best work)... I had just sold my external flash and my wide-angle lens is big enough to cast a shadow when using the internal flash. I had to do the best I could without the flash and bump up the levels in CS3.

Excellent use of space there. Is the fan from the PJ noisey when it's that close to your head?

Congratulations on the feature. I'm sure that is an awesome feeling. I think printing it out and framing it would be a nice addition to the wall on the right side of your stairs as you enter the HT :)
