Is it still really easy to "move" ones Directv service address in order to get different local HD channels. Or are they going to insist on coming out and doing the reinstall? Any suggestions appreciated!

I would just like to add that the reason I am considering moving is because it has come to my attention that my local ABCHD and NBCHD are going to start being muticasted together on one 19mb stream. Totally unacceptable!

The city I am planning on moving to is only 120 miles away directly to the west, so no worries on the spot beam reaching me I wouldnt think.

I have some experience with this. All I have ever had to do is call D* and change my service address. I always keep my billing address the same. Once your service address is changed, your receiver will download the new guide data for the new channels. It takes about 5 minutes once you talk to a CSR.

Just be aware that if you order new equipment, you need to specify the billing address is where it should be shipped to.

I ordered a new access card so I could activate my old tivo. They shipped to my service address, and the ensuing return (apparently the apartment complex I used returned it since I didn't really live there) took so long that I had to order a new card.
