Another release that hopefully comes out before year end in the US or else I'll import this one.
Hopefully it gets a DTS-HD-MA or True-HD track.
FoxyMulder 09-23-08, 06:12 PM Comes out January in America with a True HD track...Fox owns overseas rights and will be DTS HD Master from them.
UK version so far has remained slightly cut but may get resubmitted to the BBFC ( one scene only )
Henke007 09-23-08, 06:40 PM Nice, lookin forward to this, Walk the line is released in Sweden today the 24th!!
Decado2 09-23-08, 07:47 PM Along with Gladiator and the LotR trilogy, Braveheart is my most wanted BR disc. I'll get whatever version is the best, import or not.
EDIT: Holy crap that is expensive!
jvillain 09-23-08, 08:58 PM 30USD doesn't seem that far out of line compared to every thing else.
gatti-man 09-23-08, 11:48 PM Oh please be reference! Every HD transfer I have seen of this on cable is really lacking and is very dirty.
Brajesh 09-24-08, 10:00 AM 'Braveheart' is owned by Paramount in the U.S. Guessing MSRP will likely be $39.95. One of those few titles I'd buy at (almost) any price though.
My favorite movie of all time. I have seen it countless times. I have it on laserdisc, VHS, European PAL VHS (purchased in Edinburgh), DVD and special edition DVD. I went to Scotland on my honeymoon because of this movie (I'm Scottish). Yes, I will pay whatever for this movie.
c.kingsley 09-24-08, 01:13 PM Ew, count me out if a scene has been cut or altered. But, it's good to hear that it is destined for the States in January. I'm looking forward to this title.
david118383 11-12-08, 06:00 PM So is this out yet? Are there any reviews on it?
FoxyMulder 11-12-08, 06:50 PM Oh please be reference! Every HD transfer I have seen of this on cable is really lacking and is very dirty.
Dirty in what way may i ask ?
UxiSXRD 11-12-08, 07:16 PM Will it have the deleted footage that made it on ABC ... or was it TNT?
joeblow 11-12-08, 07:20 PM The OP's link now says late February 2009 for the import.
Stinky-Dinkins 03-05-09, 03:05 PM Any word on this?
Decado2 03-05-09, 04:32 PM Would also like to know! My favourite movie :)
Tim Glover 03-05-09, 08:08 PM Waaay overdue.
UxiSXRD 03-05-09, 09:32 PM WTF. Why is this one so neglected? Stupid Paramount.
I always want this BD badly. It's such a very long time for waiting.
Leterface 03-06-09, 04:55 AM WTF. Why is this one so neglected? Stupid Paramount.Exactly. I have a feeling that Paramount don't want it to be released anywhere anytime soon. It should've been out in Scandinavia by now :(
MovieSwede 03-06-09, 06:16 AM Exactly. I have a feeling that Paramount don't want it to be released anywhere anytime soon. It should've been out in Scandinavia by now :(
Its Fox that has the non US rights.
Would be nice to have this in Gibson's original pre-MPAA version with the non-trimmed battle scenes and full death of William Wallace at the end.

Agreed, i read somewhere that gibson had to cut something 20 mins of violence to get rated r.
Dan Average 03-06-09, 11:40 PM A few years ago I would've said that (a full twenty minutes of NC-17-level violence) seems too ridiculous to be true, but in light of Gibson's latter-day work, I'm not so sure :D
If you're waiting on this title in the U.S., just remember that this was a relatively "late" DVD release. Don't know if that means anything in terms of BD release, but Paramount didn't get this out on DVD until August 2000.
