I'm running Cat6 throught the house we are building at at times the cable runs a bit close to power wires and sometimes crosses it. I'm not to happy of the job the electrician did and will be taking some pictures this evenging.

I know you aren't supposed to run cables closer than 6-12" to power wires and only cross at right angles. But some places cant be avoided.

Is there anyway I can shiled the cables after they have been run? Aluminum foil perhaps?

I'm not aware of any practical way. Is it all run free air?

...but if the cable has already been run how would you get it through the sleeve? You'd have to back pull it all and start over wouldn't you?

This is going to sounds uber-redneck, but wrap the areas in tinfoil, and then electrical tape. If you really want to get it clean, put a piece of foam between them.

<--- Networking geek. I've run Cat6 right near large power mig welders like this, and had 0 signal loss.
