Hello guys, I have a little problem, I think two of my HDTV's don't get enought signal. I have Comcast and get like 10HD channels in clear QAM, cables connect directly into the TV's, no stupid set top boxes. The TV in my living room (and bedroom) sometimes looses signal on some HD channels or it starts stuttering and becomes all pixelated, like some bad youtube video. Sometimes it's fine, I guess it depends on the weather  Any sueggstions what to do? Here's the setup tham I'm running (Cable lengths are estimated)::

BTW I'll be adding another TV soon and it seems there are no 5-way splitters.

A four way splitter has 7db loss and a two way has 3.5db. That's 10.5db. Add in cable loss, and your probably down 12db. (every 3db is a double in signal strength).

Sounds like your digital signal is on the edge of the cliff of insanity, where the signal/noise ratio is too low.

You'll need a small (15-25db) amp with two way amplification for the internets. Check Solidsignal.com

Someone with more knowledge of two way amps could give a good recommendation.

You shouldn't have to *buy* anything!

CALL COMCAST!!!!

You're paying them a ton of money every month so that things like this don't happen. Let one of their techs solve this problem for you!

I've had so many incompetent cable techs, that I'd never call them for anything I could easily do my self (such as install an amp because the signal is too weak).

Ordering in the amp and installing it is a 10 minute job. Don't waste your time with Comcast.

If I read the other post right, your only getting clear QAM channels on your HDTVs, right? In which case, you should really consider an over the air antenna. More digital locals at better quality, all for the cost of hardware.

The PCT amps at http://www.cencom94.com/gpage4.html are another excellent amp.

I had Comcast come out and install a +10 db amplifier. No cost.

Your signal is being spit to death, line loss probably got what was left.

Hasn't ANYBODY here heard of a "DISTRIBUTION AMP"? -- anybody?

And what is it you think previous references to PCT, Motorola, and a 15-25dB amp are?
