I CANNOT believe that they put Howard the duck on that list!

I do not agree on most of those. at least half are far from the worst, of course not the best but not nearly the worst. where did this list come from?

The Godfather Part III well I thought it was a bit slow and thou shorter in running time over Dances With Wolves that had the best sound that year, the only great part about the film was the helicopter hovering overhead shooting the gangsters to pieces now that rocked!

Crossroads well anything with Britney I haven’t got a brain Spears needs to feed to the Florida alligators to keep the population of Florida alligators high!

Gigli now I did hear this one sucked and its fit for the Florida alligators pit, come on the alligators are hungry they need to be feed a bit Ben Affleck and bit of leg off Jennifer Lobster.

3rd on the list? Ouch. I liked that movie when it came out but then again I grew up on sci-fi.

I agree that pretty much everything on that list is crap. But there ARE about 3 of them, that I actually liked! The only one that I could say that I think they're a little hard on, would be Starship Troopers. I have never read the book that it was based on, so I had no preconceived notions of what it was supposed to be going in. And in a tongue and cheek way, I thought it was actually a pretty good movie. We won't talk about the sequels though.

Movies are like music. Some survive the test of time and some don't. Imho those movies should be judged by the standards of the time and not by todays standards. I'll bet that the person who came up with the list wasn't even born when most of those movies were released...

Starship Troopers - come on, one of the best modern day scifi b-movies dressed up like a proper a-list.
Maverick - what, don't like poor tongue-n-cheek humor
Wild Wild West - goofy Saturday afternoon fun (as a matter of fact, wasn't it on this past Saturday)
Barb Wire - ??? I didn't realize this was a full length film - I though it was just a 7 minute teaser through the opening credits :-)

How in the name of all that is unholy did they miss Tank Girl? and why in the heck is Battlefield Earth so low on the list.

I really do think that every film on that list that I have seen is a POS. Some are so bad that they can't even be given so bad they are good status (Mystery Science Theater type good) . IMO Star Ship Troopers is one.

But what projector did you watch it on? And how many artifacts did you see? What was the average APL of the movie? Did you notice motion blur? Were the colors accurate? How was the depth? Did it have ANSI pop? Were the black levels accurate? How was the shadow detail? Did it look like the production was done using SMPTE-C or Rec.709? Did you see any weird cadence issues from bad edits? Did the camera gamma seem right?

Hard core AVS'ers don't care about the content it's all about the tech :D

Watched 1/2 a movie last night "and then she found me" - yes its a "chick flick" but omg I cringed through the whole thing. I'll try and watch the other half.....

Whoever compiled that list doesn't understand te concept of "camp". Many of those films - i.e., George Hamilton's Zorro - have an intentionally tongue-in-cheek tone to them, and if you go in taking them seriously, you are going to be seriously disappointed.

Granted, none of them are going to go down in history as works of art, but some (Soylent Green) shouldn't be on the list. And Barbarella, #1? There are plenty of worse movies.

And Mark Petersen is correct about the test of time... "Psycho" is still widely hailed as a masterpiece, but the ending that shocked audiences many years ago is now a cliche. Can't wait to see how my grandkids will view "The Sixth Sense"...

I will admit a lot of these movies are my favs. I love campy B movies. I get tired of the typical CGI action block buster.

My all time "favorite" worst movie is one called "The Monitors"

The premise is that Earth in the future is "pacified" by a race of beings called the
"Monitors". They run self-promoting commercials on TV all day; and anytime there
is a fender-bender and tempers flair - the Monitors drive up in their car and a bunch of
guys in black trenchcoats get out and spray aerosal cans of stuff to calm everyone.

I also remember a fight in the movie between actor Larry Storch [ of "F-Troop" ] in
which one of the combatants was carrying a bag of groceries which included a carrot.
The combatants struggle over the carrot as if it were a knife.

It was so bad - you just got "sucked in" to watch - just to see how much worse this
movie could get.

"Jaws ,4 the revenge" must be the worst movie ever made.

A lot of hitchcock's movies are like that. They were groundbreaking for their day but they seem very cliche by todays standards. Many of Hitchcock's innovative camera tricks were so groundbreaking that they are copied over and over and are a standard in most filmmaker's "bag of tricks". A perfect example is the technique he used in Vertigo where the camera was pulled back on a dolley while the lens was zoomed in. It creates a disorienting effect on the audience and is used all the time now although I think it was first used in Vertigo.

There was a similar discussion in one of the other forums about "Bullitt". That movie defined the car chase scene when it was released. Today is seems fairly tame but by the standards of the day it was sensational.

In film everything that is good gets copied and redone. Everything from plot elements to special effects to camera techniques. A person doesn't even have to go back to the 50s or 60s to see this, just look at the morphing technique from T2 that is used all the time now. Or the slow motion moves in Matrix. Heck just look at the space scenes in the original Star Wars (not the re-released version with fresh CGI). All were great movies when they were released but seem watered down by todays standards.

"Freddy Got Fingered" is the worst movie that I have seen. It's a ridiculously bad movie.
