Hey kids, any reviews on this release? I am going to try to grab this from Fry's tonight, I'm tired of waiting for it from Netflix, and I figure it will be a buy for me, anyway.

I enjoyed the standard Robotech: Shadow Chronicles, and picked up the BD also. Haven't had a chance to watch it yet, but I'll be sure to post when I get a chance (probably this weekend).

As someone said, not as good as the originals, but still better than quite a few other things out there.

The originals are good. Considering they took 3 different Japanese series and made 1 long series out of it it's amazing what they did with it. I'd rather Animego just rerelease Macross on Blu-Ray than have this come out. But since Funimation is doing Blu-Ray, I suppose this is what we get.

I saw it on DVD a while ago, as far as the story goes, and a follow up to the "Robotech" legacy, I don't think much of it. It's kind of mediocre, leaning towards boring. Let's put it this way- I crave any kind of anime on Blu-Ray yet I'd spend my money elsewhere.

Wouldn't it be nice to finally have a legal English subtitled release of DO YOU REMEMBER LOVE, the 2 hour Robotech movie? I mean, WTF is up with that one never seeing the light of day?

And just bring on frickin GHOST IN THE SHELL already. I mean, come on!!!!

It hasn't seen the light of day because of continuing legal battles (between Big West and Harmony Gold) disputing who owns the international rights.

I know the differnece, but they are all from the same birth, so one has to do with the other and always will. Like most Americans, I saw ROBOTECH first, then a bootleg tape of DYRL and then years later, thanks to Animeigo, MACROSS. Very quickly MACROSS became the best in my eyes.

DYRL is not a great film, but it has great moments. I'd love to be able to view it with subtitles.

so one has to do with the other and always willI was just clarifying since DYRL has never had the "Robotech" name attached to it and never will.

Go buy Macross and Mospeada DVD sets on the cheap. You'll enjoy them much more.

I thought it was very good especially if you were familiar with the old series, the animation is above average and the sound field has decent bass and good surround use. Not crap at all but then again I dont spend three hours on each frame comparing back to back vs DVDs, You Tube, Cable, Satellite, and HD-DVD.

I wasn't very impressed with the storyline or animation for this Robotech sequel.Harmony Gold were only allowed to use certain characters from the original Robotech series and thus the story for R:SC seems forced and unecessary.I was more impressed with the Afro Samurai BR thought R:SC did have a nice stable of extras at least compared to the Afro Samurai BR.
