I am debating between the ED A3-300 and the A2-300. Right now the A2 will be roughly $200 less and I am just wondering if the difference between the 2 is worth the extra $200?

The room it will go in is a 14 x 20 entertainment room in a finished basement.

Look forward to everyone's expertise as I am set to pull the trigger and originally was going to get the A3-300 with upgraded cone but the specs and user reviews on the A2-300 are making me seriously consider it and saving some money.

Buy as big sub as you can.

That is what I have heard but in this case both are the 12" and main differences are the box and 350 watt vs 250 watt.

Actually they use different drivers as well. One is the 13Ov.2 D2 and one is the 13Kv.2 D2.

Lennon,

Yeah I got that email earlier this week and if DIY was an option I would of gone this route but unfortunately not that sophisticated and having the time to make it.

So is the A3-300 worth the $200 more? I know I am willing to spend it but want to make sure since the A2 gets a lot of raves and with the price cut it seems like a great deal.

I'm going for the a2 300 myself man I think it's plenty for my apartment, the thing is huge hehe, I think ima place an order today in the evening, I don't think it's worth 200 but that's only me, I'd rather buy 2 extra rear back speakers and make a 7 speaker set with that 200 bucks

Actually, they both default to the 13Kv.2. However, you can opt to spend $25 more and upgrade the A3-300 to the 13Ov.2. It's just that I think everyone on AVS that has ordered the A3-300 has forked over the extra dough for the upgraded driver so it seems like it automatically comes with it.

Ah, thanks for the info. For some reason I was thinking the "upgraded driver" was to get the new drivers that will be replacing their current lineup.

Personally it wouldn't be worth the extra to me but that's just my opinion. If I were you I'd buy the A2-300 and try it out, if you want more sub save up another $100 and buy a second.

Exactly, so the "bigger sub" in this case is the one with the bigger amp. The internal volume appears to be almost the same.
