Does it matter if I put a 52 inch LCD (50 inches wide) on a stand that is 48 inches wide. Their site says the stand is for TV's up to 50" (not width of TV). The TV shelf holds up to 175lbs, where as the TV itself is only 75. I guess their supported size has something to do with the appearance, but it really doesn't bother me if the TV is wider than the stand by an inch on each side.

Also, I believe the height of the TV center should be eye level. If that's the case, why are most 48-52" stands only 20 inches tall? I would think standard should be more like 24.
