@bdoyle, it's currently a US only feature. It s the same story with Pinnochio according to thehdroom.com. I'm not sure why Disney is making such a stupid decision, all the other studios have "region free" BD live.

Thebarnman 11-15-08, 12:08 PM Probably towards the end of the film when there is more action, magic, and some really vibrant colors. Thanks, I'll be looking for that! Drag'nGT 11-15-08, 12:20 PM Do you think this is really a limited edition; i.e. they'll pull it after a while? robertc88 11-15-08, 01:55 PM The forest scenes are what I paused the most during playback. Detail is great! Brandon B 11-17-08, 06:16 PM Do you think this is really a limited edition; i.e. they'll pull it after a while? Yes. bassmonkeee 11-17-08, 08:08 PM Do you think this is really a limited edition; i.e. they'll pull it after a while? That's been Disney's modus operandi for decades. No reason to suspect they'll change for HD. EVizzle 11-20-08, 02:28 AM As silly as it looked, the Dragon bonus feature is a sound demo for sure! I don't think I have heard a better use of surround than that, and the LFE rattles your house! flyersfan 11-20-08, 03:42 AM Hopefully my problems were just due to excessive fingerprints on the disc. We lost 1/4 sec of audio early on and thought nothing of it. Then, when Aurora is zombie-fied and is about to go into the fireplace, the movie stopped dead. Had to eject, clean the disc, and try again. Didn't have a single glitch after that. As much as I enjoyed the movie (and I really DID!), it has almost no replay value for me. Since I don't/won't have young kids in the house, there's just no need to own. I hadn't seen it since I was a child, so going another 30+ before seeing it again (if ever) will be fine. That doesn't detract from the fine transfer and tremendous animation skill on display for the entire running time. The transfer/animation was amazing (especialy considering its age:eek:) and the audio was very good, especialy in the surround department (again, especialy considering its age), but certainly nothing I would put in to show off my gear and dont see myself watching this again for the movie itself (which was good). jbug 11-20-08, 12:55 PM Yeah it looks quite different than that...The colors are a lot deeper and have less of a white haze running through them if that makes any sense. It is also much sharper...but not over-sharpened. The film looks so pristine and incredible that any digital artifact or marks on the film would stand out like a sore thumb. It truly looks like a childrens book. And the small amount of grain adds a texture that makes the animation appear like it's on paper rather than an LCD TV. Very cool stuff and I was very hesitant to pick this one up again. Interesting as when I first saw a preview, I wasn't impressed at all. I'm glad to hear your report that PQ is up to snuff. stigdu 12-05-08, 03:10 PM As silly as it looked, the Dragon bonus feature is a sound demo for sure! I don't think I have heard a better use of surround than that, and the LFE rattles your house! Yet again, we get shafted in the UK. The Dragon Encounter special feature isn't on the UK release. How rubbish is that? chronomac 01-11-09, 10:12 PM I can't access BD-Live either but I have a Region A Sleeping Beauty Blu-ray disc. The icon simply isn't under "Total Menus" where it should be. It's a certifiable release, since my girlfriend bought it when she visited Disney World in late October, and it has the BD-Live Network icon on the front slipcase and the advertising on the interior, but I can't access the features for some reason. I'm using an 80 GB PS3, completely updated. Myth 02-08-09, 03:50 PM anyone else find themselves adjusting the sound on this often? it seems sort of low. i have polk audio satelite speakers with onkyo tx 606. i find myself putting this movie on VOL 40 for a nice experience. i did the automatic calibration thing:( iDarren 01-19-10, 07:29 AM Is it true that there is some missing audio on the Sleeping Beauty BD? I read that there was on another forum. iDarren 01-26-10, 07:52 AM Bump is it true that there is some missing audio on the sleeping beauty bd? I read that there was on another forum. tfoltz 01-26-10, 03:19 PM Tell us what you read. I know some audio is missing from Pinocchio, but haven't heard about Sleeping Beauty missing any. |
