not hd same as the shield.
Yep. It's 4x3. Even the DVDs are 4x3 (Or at least 1+2 were...haven't bought 3 yet).
Though I must admit that this is probably the only show I watch in full screen. Doesn't matter what the format it, it's still the best frakking comedy on tv.
lobosrul 09-26-08, 01:44 PM At least the first 2 series were shot on SD digital cameras, so there will never be a widescreen and/or HD release of them.
nakedeye 09-26-08, 08:43 PM I cant believe more people aren't on board with this show. Second only to the office.
Garrett Adams 09-26-08, 08:59 PM On my Comcast On Demand only the first episode was 4:3, the second though was HD.
So much time has elapsed I had forgotten how incredibly stupid they were. Nincompoops all!

Second to The Office? No way, second to none! This show is great...even in SD. Only show, other than The Daily Show, that I'll break down and watch in SD.

All 4 episodes on my Comcast system are in 4:3.
dansmith 11-05-08, 11:56 PM I know a fact that Always Sunny is shot on the Panasonic DVX100, which is a standard def camera. It's still a great camera... that and the canon xl2 are probably the best 2 sd cameras in the prosumer market.
This season has produced my favorite episode ever "Charlie and Mac Die" and the worst one ever, "Sweet Dee has a Heart Attack"
Since bringing on new writers the shows have been very hit or miss. Hopefully they get rid of the writers that have been sucking. Also its kind of sad they don't write the episodes themselves anymore. I found that charming.

I know what you mean. It feels like they amplified each character about 10x. The characters act the same, but it's almost as if they are somehow different.
Young C 08-04-09, 11:19 AM Wow, an SDTV Programming forum!
It would be totally awesome if Sunny was broadcasted in HD & DD5.1 for Season 5 starting Sept. 15, 2009.
ApolloCreed 09-17-09, 02:34 PM I posted this in "Sunny" thread in the DVD forum but was redirected by the moderators to this thread. Anyway.........
Ladies and Gentlemen, here we go again. Season 5 starts tonight (broadcast in HD, I believe)!!! I couldn't be more ready after seeing the previews. Of course we'll be watching some of our favorites prior to the feature presentation. I'm thinking: The Gang Get's Whacked, Dee's Dating a Retarded Person & Sweet Dee Has a Heart Attack.
BTW, even though I have the entire 4th season on my DVR, we went out and bought the dvd set as well. Included in the set is a live performance of "The Nightman Cometh" in front of a small audience. Apparently they did 2 live shows of this episode and they sold out the tickets in like 10 minutes. Great **** folks, highly recommended!
jason10mm 09-21-09, 10:15 AM Good first ep. Some seasons it takes them a bit to get back on track, but they started off running for this one. Dee seems a bit more snarky than usual, and she almost pulled off a scam! I think we will see more of Honey and Vinegar as well :)
Noticed Dennis got his shirt off again (along with everyone else). Wonder if they are going to run that gag again.
Caught that sneak peek of "Archer" as well. Don't know how they tricked my DVR into recording it, but I'm glad they did, it was decent. I think it helps to know what they are spoofing, as I enjoyed it much more than the wife.

Has the new season of Its Always Sunny in Philadelphia started yet?! It seemed like it was so long since the last season finished - and a couple of bad episodes last season - got me a little impatient and I forgot about it. Shame on me for that one. I am going to have to check in my Hulu queue now to see it since I missed watching it on cable tv.
All the characters have a really good attitude to keep things entertaining... always trying to get into scams but it is plainly obvious that none of the crew from the restaurant have what it takes to pull it off by themselves. What cracks me up is how sloppy most of them are about how they do things, it just so happens that the conflict between them moves the story forward and screws their scams up too. Can't wait to watch the new episode, all the restaurant crew are a hoot!
