anybody have this happen. all the buttons above the triangle don't work. I replaced the bats and re-sync the remote but still no go. very frustrating.

I will be buying a new one after work today. as I'm going to watch godfather 1

That stinks. If it's dead, you could always try opening it up and seeing if a connection came loose. Its not like you have anything to lose, heh.

I also wanted to add, have you tried using the normal ps3 controller as your remote? I don't know about others, but I found the controller to be one of my favorite remotes, as every control seems to just "fit" in it's location. Triggers fast forward, top triggers skip, X pauses etc.

Some people use the remote because they got it free with their ps3, but if you haven't already, you might wanna try to controller. It's a great remote imo!

Was anything spilled on it/in it? I haven't seen a PS3 BT remote innards yet but if it's one main board, maybe the carbon contacts are dirty above the triangle. If not, like above mentioned maybe there's a loose connection or something. I'ld swap it with the new one and return the bad one ;)

Before scrapping the remote, have you looked into some of the IR kits that utilize the BT emmiter from the remotes. What you wind up with is a box that takes IR signals froma standard universal remote and you communicate to the PS3 with BT. Pretty slick, so if your remote is broken (the BT emmiter works fine but the motherboard of the remote has issues), you might scrap out the BT emmiter and get yourself standard IR control of the PS3. Search for IR to BT convters here at and your sure to find some links.

didn't spill anything on it.
I opened it up a few hours ago and everything looked good.

I did buy it new as I never really liked using the controller. but I will just get a new one. I won't return the old one as that's just not right. but I think I hang on to it as a extra as I can still operate every thing with the bellow controls there's just 2 steps in some cases

Doesn't it come with a year warranty?? Buy the new one, and send the old one back and when you get it back sell it on ebay or here to get some of your money back.
