I am going to be finally setting up my home theatre in my soon to be finsished basement. I have an Onkyo 606 receiver, twin tower speakers for my front speakers and then the Polk 6750 system for my 7.1 surround sound.

I just ordered the ED A3-300 subwoofer to give it some more punch.

My two questions are, if I am going to hookup both the Polk and ED subwoofers should I put them side by side? on top of each other? or at each corner of the room?

Also, can someone recommend the best subwoofer cable for me to run dual subwoofers with? I only need 6-12 ft of cord.

Thank you for all your replies and help.

Begin with a little homework. Read this paper on multiple subs (http://www.harman.com/wp/pdf/multsubs.pdf), it shows the optimal locations (in the test room) for two subs. I am uncertain but I belive that you will not gain much from a stacked setup and corners of course should increase the output (but not uniformly) of lower frequencies--it will play louder but not usually have a smooth response.

Then there is the experimental method; try out different locations. If you want to go a step further get a RS SPL meter and a free copy of REQ Wiz (http://www.hometheatershack.com/roomeq/) and measure your options. It is kinda fun and leads you to room treatments and other subjects often discussed here.

Subwoofer cable is just ordinary coax interconnect cable (often but not always RG59) with RCA plugs at the end. Any brand will work. Lots of low cost stuff at sellers who sponsor this forum. Don't buy anything that has the words Monster on the package, nor anything that makes claims about science, jitter, transients, speed of propagation, skin effect etc.
