i have a panasonic dvd-lv75 ans was wondering how to hook it up to the onkyo 6100 hitb that i am going to be getting. the manual ( http://service.us.panasonic.com/OPERMANPDF/DVDLV75.pdf) states on page 35 that i can use an optical cable to get 5.1 digital audio to a reciever, but the port looks like a 3.5mm plug and is also shared for the stereo output i saw this cable http://www.monoprice.com/products/product.asp?c_id=102&cp_id=10229&cs_id=1022902&p_id=1557&seq=1&format=1#largeimage but am not sure if it will work.

There is indeed a mini-Toslink optical port. The cable you found should do it.

thanks i'm gonna try it with an adapter as i have soem optical cables:D but i'm confused as to how they got the same port to do two things(analog stereo and digital surround)
