Sometimes Turner can get it right. drake21734 09-28-08, 01:16 PM Was watching earlier myself. The fight scene between Uma and Lucy at the end of part 1 was very impressive in HD. zoro 09-28-08, 01:22 PM I saw that, did not record as usually I am not too excited abt TNT video quality. jrusnak 09-28-08, 01:44 PM This is actually looking really really good on TNT. Sometimes Turner can get it right. Not the aspect ratio, they don't! (As well as censorship) Charles O 09-28-08, 03:58 PM Kill Bill Vol. 1 and 2 will be repeated beginning at 1 am on Monday. The bigger surprise was Jackie Brown was in HD as well. Looked pretty good, but the comedy scale for all the edits in language was real high. "Moby Fingers", "Mother Fathers", "Mutual Funders"....absolutely hilarious. Fred72 09-28-08, 08:29 PM I watched this too and was pretty impressed with the PQ. Was actually my first time seeing them. drake21734 09-28-08, 10:41 PM Just when you think they're doing it right, they then played True Lies in a really awfully bad stretchovision version. nakedeye 09-29-08, 03:18 AM Kill Bill Vol. 1 and 2 will be repeated beginning at 1 am on Monday. It looks like it was intentionally filmed that way for a cable airing probably digital f/x. I know someone who worked in a digital f/x house. When not working on CGI for movies like the matrix, he edited movies/cable shows for broadcast. Hes put a lot of bras and panties on naked women. It's a crime against man, but someone has to do it. zoro 09-29-08, 01:17 PM I did too, a bit, and indeed! PQ was way better than what I am used from TNT. Hughmc 09-29-08, 03:40 PM TNT more often than not has good PQ for movies from my Cable co. Kill Bill showings I think showed how good the original is and if from the same source explains why so many are raving about the BD PQ. nakedeye 09-29-08, 07:31 PM probably digital f/x. I can pick that out. mr. wally 09-30-08, 05:42 PM saw volume 1 sunday and almost didn't watch it because i never watch the tnt and tbs hd crap. it's almost always so bad i can't watch it. but i decided to check it out because i like these 2 movies so much. well lo and behold it looked pretty good. in fact about as good as anything i have ever seen on these 2 channels. go figure. anyone know if they will be repeated and if so when? Spiky 10-04-08, 04:46 PM Just when you think they're doing it right, they then played True Lies in a really awfully bad stretchovision version. Has True Lies ever looked good, anywhere? I don't think there is even an anamorphic DVD copy on the planet. |
