Well, I have to admit I'm getting pretty sick of the cable company (Mediacom). Bought my dad a new Samsung LCD for his office. Wasn't really thinking in terms of HD since we're both using cable cards with HD Tivos on our main sets.
Is my only choice to rent a cable box? We're talking $10/month for every TV we replace over the next couple years if we want to get any HD channels (not including OTA and QAM), that will add up quick to say the least!
For $12/month I can have another HD Tivo (yes, I'll have to pay for the Tivo...).

They're suppose to be Tru2way boxes you can buy whenever they come out if you don't mind waiting.

If you use the Tivo you still need to pay the cable company for the cable cards. Best idea is to get the box and live with it.

True, but the cost is:
Tivo HD: $9.95 plus $2 Cable Card /month
Cable Box: $9.95/month
So for $2 extra I get a top notch DVR which is sell-able later if need be. For the $10 for the cable box I get nothing but the privilege of paying the cable company for something they should provide straight over the line. IMO all the channels should be QAM.
