Hi, I have started purchasing shows from Amazon's Video On Demand service. I can download to my Tivo or to my PC, but on the PC, I am limited to using Microsoft Media Player 10. I vastly prefer other players (VLC, GOM, etc.), and I'd like to be able to watch them on my Mac or Linux boxes rather than my old XP system. I do not share copyrighted videos; this is for my own (legal) convenience.

Can this be done? Does it involve removing DRM (tho' they are legally purchased and I have the rights)? Or can they be transcoded to straight MPEG-2 or something? I assume they just have some kind of DRM wrapper around them.

Thanks!

For actual purchases you can use Zoom Player Home Premium (http://www.inmatrix.com/zplayer/pro/why_premium.shtml)which understands Microsoft WMV DRM.

Amazon unbox uses MS WMV -- IIRC. And Zoom Player integrates well with ffdshow and nVidia PureVideo, etc.
