Well, I was certain I've seen on thread on this title, but my search came up empty. Maybe it disappeared in the recent server crash.
Anyway, I just bought the UK version of this Blu-ray. It's encoded at 1080i60 and looks great, except for flickering due to the fact that my screen (Pioneer PDP-507) does not detect it as film material and runs it at its native 60Hz instead of 72Hz. To my eyes this is very annoying and tiring.
Is this because the source material is not film-based?
Do nature shows filmed and presented at 1080p24 at all exist?
Would a programme filmed and presented in 1080p60 also be played back at 60Hz on my and comparable screens?
Any feedback would be greatly appreciated!
Mitch
