I'm considering switching from DirecTV to Time Warner, mainly because the HD is free and my DirecTV receiver was constantly overheating and shutting down.

I looked into scheduling an appointment online and it shows that the soonest an installation can be made is two weeks. Of course, I can pick up the equipment at a customer center and have it sooner.

My question is, does anyone know if I will need to do any wiring in the Time Warner cable box outside my house to accomodate the switch? I have a dish running into the box right now. Thanks.

If your dish lines are running in to the cable box, then you probably need to open the box and just unplug the lines running in to your house from Directv and plug them back in to cable. Hopefully the directv tech left your cable splitter if there was one.
