Let me give you a little background first. DirecTV called me a few weeks ago to offer a free dish and box upgrade to replace my old dish and hd box. Seems the new bird in the sky isn't compatible with my current hd box a Samsung SIR-TS360. Currently I run the RGBHV cable from the TS360 to an Extron box to send a negative sync signal to my Barco Graphics 800. The new hd box I'll get from DirecTV doesn't offer an RGBHV output so i'll have to use the component output.

I bought a Box1040 from Curt's site to perform the component to RGBHV signal conversion prior to being sent to the Extron box for negative sync. I got the Box1040 in and decided to go ahead and make the change prior to receiving the new hd box from DirecTV. I ran component cables from the TS-360 to the Box1040 then the RGBHV cable from the Box1040 to the Extron box. Everything else is exactly the same.

Prior to making the change I had a great 720p image from the TS-360. Now
I've got an unwatchable image. The project loses the signal then finds it again but the image is completely unwatchable.

My question is do I need to perform a complete setup on the projector? I know other people have used the Box1040 with no issues so I hope I'm just missing something easy. Any help would be greatly appreciated!

When you swapped over did you toggle the TS-360's output mode from RGB to YPbPr? Is the Extron box (which model?) still required when using the Box1040?

That's the only simple idea I have...

Yes, I switched from RGB to Component output on the TS-360. I know the Box1040 is capable of outputting a negative sync signal but I haven't tried that yet. I'll contact the maker and ask for instructions on making the switch, which I believe is in the box itself. I wouldn't have thought the Extron box would be causing the problem but I don't know that.
