While watching sports (in particular) I get more and more annoyed by having a moving text at the bottom of the screen. It's hard to concentrate on the action when your eyes are always trying to read the ticker. More and more channels seems to be using this.

Am I the only one that would at times use a 'curtain' that could black out a variable number of lines from the bottom of the picture and up? Ideally it would be possible to set how many lines (or percentage) should be covered and then have a toogle to to turn it on/off.

Does this function exist already on any scaler?

Lumagens have a mask feature that may do what you want

The DVDO VP line allows you to custom set the Active AR (1.01:1 tp 3.00:1) to mask the top and bottom or sides. You can then use the Pan feature to shift the image If you only want one side to be masked.

I have a VP50. Never thought of doing it this way. I'll try it out. Thanks for the idea.

Maybe with a macro from my remote I could get a on/off working as well.
