Okay, I have been looking for a long time for a new tv for my living room. I want something in the 46-52" range. It will be used for movies(blu-ray & dvd), a decent amount of gaming(ps3, wii), hdtv and some sdtv.

Narrowed it down to these three sets..

1. panasonic TH-50PZ800U
2. sony KDL-46Z4100
3. samsung LN46A650

I am leaning towards the panasonic, however I do plan on doing a decent amount of gaming...been known to sit for 4-8 hrs easily.... I heard plasma got better about burn in and IR....but was still worried. I have looked at all 3 and they all have great pictures.

I can get the panasonic roughly 200-400 cheaper than I can get either of the lcds. Just curious what people would recommend.

also is there any lag issues with plasma and video games? I know you get issues with older generation console on a lot of tv, but mainly will be ps3 and wii, maybe a small amount on ps2.

You might want to check out the LCD forum on 2 of those sets

I recommend the 50pz800u. Plasmas are great for gaming. I game 5+ hours on my 50px80u and there are no lag and image retention problems.

ahh..bought the panasonic yesterday, took it out of the box, huge dent on the back of the tv, have to wait a week now the store didn't have another one in stock they are transferring one from across the state.... I did realize though that I could get the sony 46z4100 for the same price, but haven't heard anyone on the forums suggest it over the panasonic, so figure same price I should probably get the bigger screen. so now I get to wait again...
