i have no problem letting anyone know my what had happened.. he has done good deals just not with me.. i just dont like someone telling me one thing and then i hear them on my answering machine with the shipping company saying another thing. now he didnt know the shipper never hung up the phone with my answering machine when he tried calling me. so he was being taped on speaker phone and the shipper didnt know he still had the other line connected to me.. it was with cleveland plasma.. there is more to this...

chris.. i been talking to you about a price for a bit now. i was going to get this unit from jms customs and there dist, but had sold the last unit and didnt have it instock.. so i contacted you and seen if you could match the price i got and didnt hear from you. i then called thursday morning and talked with dale since you wheren't in the office yet. he gave me a higher price. i said lets do it and i asked dale if i set a time up for delivery for this unit. he said yes let them know whats good time. i said great. meanwhile chris you Pm'ed me with a lower price . i called you back and asked you about it that dale gave me a higher price. you said thats the price. i went to work. shipper calls me left voice mail on my cell. i call him back and he said monday or tuesday between 12-5pm i said they really wasnt good since i work from 12:30-8pm monday-friday.

i told him to set it up for tuesday 12-5pm when my wife would be home. i called you again and let you know right away about this. you told me that they said i would get it one day on the weekend. now you said you would call them.. you did and you didnt know you wher ebeing taped by my answering machine. i heard you say do you monday- or tuesday. i didnt hear anything about the weekend. i called the shipper back and asked do they bring it in the house. he said NO curbside or if someone helps him and we work something out, (i tip him he would do it.. ).

i called you back told you what he said and i couldnt let my wife carry this plasma with him and do the inspection by herself. and i also stressed i didnt want to call in work sick.

on thursday night i called you again and said i couldnt do it and you said you voided the transaction.i called you back and was on the fence about it you said you can always can re-ring it on the same auth number. i said fine. the next day i decieded not to go ahead and called you and pm'ed you to cancel less than 24hrs later ...

you said to me you would meet me halfway. you didnt say anything about doing it this weekend.. what do you think i would rather do drive 45minutes to 1 hr or drive 3hrs+ to meet you and drive 3 hrs back..

and i went ahead and picked up my unit today in N.J . took me total of maybe 3 hrs round trip..

My shipping guy called you within a few hours after your order and he could not accomidate the timeframe in the end :eek:, it happens. I was told when I first called my network that the weekend was good and my network was told the weekend would be fine too, something happened and it could not be done. ( Life happens. )

what should of happened was there should of nevr been a promise to when shipping to be done.. you cant except customers to call in sick work just to be there when this shipping company only comes with one person to do a curbside drop off. now if i was told this by dale i would of never said lets do it. i went ahead with it because dale said i can pick a time to make it work for me.

and i called and cancelled less than 24 hrs later so i wouldnt be charged a 25 % re-stocking fee. like i said. i guess you need a new credit card processing service. if you lose your money..

dale knew what the deal was. and we live 8hrs apart from your address on my receipt to me. and that mean i would have to drive 4 hrs one way to meet you and that wasnt going to happen..

I was not "trying" to lead you on, I was doing the best I could to get your unit delivered on the weekend at first ( which west south because the driver was obligated ), then I tried for monday or Tuesday to get this done before noon, and I still never got a "firm" answer back. This was all tried in an 8 hour workday at our vender on Thursday, we did move into Friday and you firmlly cancelled at about 10:30 eastern. We are here from 6 AM -11 PM everyday of the year, are networks are not.

We are all pressed for time chevy01xtreme, each and everyone of us. We all have a clock that is ticking and will end at some point. I know I could have gotten this done but only having from about 10 AM Thursday 10-02-08 to 11AM Friday 10-03-08 is not a long time to get this done, that is about 9 hour for my networks to network, normally that is plenty of time but not enough this time around. (My next step would have been to ship from a different vender who could accomidate you needs, and still land the unit within 5 days of your order date of Thrusday 10-02-08. Most people do not have the option and contacts you have in the electronics business so I understand you wanting to cancel.)

I love to sell units and I am disapointed that the unit you are watching is not from me.

I personally don't know of many vendors (owners) willing to drive that long of a distance for a piece of A/V equipment with a markup of less 15% after all is said and done. It is pretty obvious that he was more concerned with your happiness than his own personal benefit.

Sorry if I opened up a can of worms.:eek: I see now that it was just a series of misunderstandings that could happen with any retailer....at least in this case the OP had live people to talk to not only on the phone and also here. This doesn't lessen my confidence in going with a forum sponsor over an unknown or even a big box store.

From an outsiders point of view, it just looks to me like Chris said...things just didn't connect like they were hoping. Can't always make firm statements on behalf of a delivery company which you don't own.

It just seems to me that you think the fact the he offered to drive half way to you (6-8 hours round trip for him) was a slap in the face to you. If that isn't able to accomadate you, so be it, but don't badmouth someone because they are offering to drive 8 hours to meet you halfway instead of 16 hours to personally deliver it to your house.

The purpose of having an item shipped is so it can be delivered to your home, apparently the time frame for that to happen was not acceptable to you, so he offered to drive 8 hours round trip in order to meet you half way so that the TV could be given to you during your time frame. I don't know a single other company, other than perhaps the forum sponsors, who would even offer such a notion.

Do you think BB would drive 8 hours for you to have your set delivered at your convenience? They would ship it and if you didn't like the time setup by the shipping company...too bad, and you are still out the whole charge. He ate $70 for you so don't talk bad about the man.

the fact i was told/promised something and it didnt happen.. i can make promises to about driving to meet but it didnt happen and he never said i will drive. after i told him that i got another tv he said we can meet. like i said i have a business to and i would aspect a customer to drive 4 + hrs one way to meet me.. chris got caught in lies and thats it..

Not trying to put you down or such but I think you are expecting a lot from a person/service who stands to make no more than $500 on this sale (if lesser in these times). I am not saying you ought to expect shoddy service from anyone but then you also have to be realistic on how far the seller would go to please you. If this were a 50K projector then yeah you could expect him to hand deliver it to you. But this is a $3000 TV we are talking about, aren't we ??

I am looking at buying a 58p800u/58px850u in the near future....Until now I was not considering AVS Forum sponsors in my list of vendors but after reading the above I think I should include Cleveland Plasma. Great customer service in my opinion :)

We have a differenent business plan over here. We do everything we can to keep people happy, might not always work but we try. My guys said they could deliver on the weekend and then I was told they could not. Tried for monday and Tuesday and that did not work out either. He was able to get it sooner so that worked out great for him. I then told him if he wanted I could meet him half way if he liked. ( I felt bad, I take things to a personal level, our average ticket is $2000 + and thats a lot of cash and we respect that fact. )
