I can't get my hdmi ports to show any video. I just bought a new pioneer receiver and have my xbox component cables plugged into. I have it on the correct source. I'm using the correct hdmi porT on the receiver to go from the tv to it. I get sound but no video

Does your Pioneer receiver convert Component to HDMI? Have you tried anything else on the HDMI ports besides the receiver?

Could you explain your set up and what model receiver you have. What sources (cable box, dvd player etc.?) do you have connected and how are they connected (hdmi, component, composite?) to your receiver?

it's a pioneer vsx-918. I'm running my xbox thru component cables to the receivers DVD "in" source. I have an hdmi cable on the "out" side going to my input 6 on my tv. I have the tv on the correct source. I've tried two different hdmi cables now. Don't all new receivers convert component to hdmi? I hope I didn't buy the wrong receiver :(

I don't believe that receiver converts anything to HDMI, did someone tell you it did or did you see any specs stating so? Check the manual to be sure.

Not sure on the VSX 918 but my Elite 92 will take component and composite inputs and then send the signal out to the TV through HDMI as that's how I have my Denon progressive scan dvd player and VCR hooked up. My cable box and PS3 are both connected to the receiver with HDMI cables. You might want to check your settings on your receiver and the TV again.
