I have a new Hitachi P50X902 Director's Series plasma display with awful burn-in. This condition exists after me following all of the directions to avoid it, such as not running in "torch mode," breaking it in gently, etc. The dealer sent someone out to do my promised "calibration," which basically consisted of nothing more than adjusting a few of the standard settings.
The dealer, "Music Lover's in Berkeley, CA, who sold me the panel advertised it, as "burn proof." When I went in to talk to them about the problem initially, the owner said the panel "doesn't burn," and offered to come to our home, calibrate the panel, and correct the problem. About a week later, the owner sent one of his employees with an Avia disk and that's it. No call from the owner beforehand to let me know what was going on. The employee takes a look at the set and says "Yeah, bad burn-in. I'll talk to Hugh, and have him call you." About a week later, I go in to the shop again to find out what's going on, and the employee says they're waiting to hear from Hitachi, and that if there's nothing they can do, it's my problem. Again, no response from the owner.
At this point, I'm ready to bag this "high end" deatler, and head to Best Buy to get a Samsung. Inaccurate information. Awful customer service. However, I can't do that as I'm stuck with this POS. Anyone have any ideas?
