I am painting my media room Black (ceiling, Front wall, and bottom 1/2 of surrounding room walls) Top 1/2 of side and rear walls will be red.

Epson ub projector with a 120 fixed screen.

Do I use flat or satin paint?
The room is light controlled to dark.

Thanks

Looking at Benjamin Moore paint. Any suggestions? Or tips like spray vs roll?
Colors?

If you are concerned about kids or adults touching your walls, go with satin. My ceiling and front wall is flat while the sides and rear is satin. I sprayed initially but ended up rolling.

I was curious if one screen wall and ceiling were flat if the Satin remainning
3 walls would match.
Does Flat Black look chaulky?

Not concerned with people touching walls.

Black is tough paint to apply. So I was not sure to roll or higher a pro sprayer.
I rolled my ceiling myself currently, and it looks like I hid a body up there!

My ceiling has ceiling tiles that were spray painted black because Home Depot kept giving me the runaround about black ceiling tiles. My room looks great with screen area being flat and everywhere else satin. You could always try flat by your screen area and see if you like it with satin. If you don't, you can alway repaint the flat part satin. I used primer and my black paint looks good, at least in my opinion.

FWIW - When I decided to paint my front wall black, I found this thread:

I painted my front wall with the Promar 400 and it looks great. It's the blackest black I've ever seen. The one problem I have found is that fingerprints show very easy, so if you have kids, this may not be a good option.

I have flat Kelly Moore "Hottie" on all my wall. I can tell u if I do it again, I will go eggshell over flat. I am getting tire of cleaning and re-apply paint anytime anyone touches it. think of tons of white spots here and there. I presume it's the same if apply black.

I will look into the Promar 400.
