well since i got my 5084 back in november i have been out of the tv scene.

was wondering what has been up?
noticed that best buy and such has all new plasmas and no longer carries my once top of the line sammy 5084.

i have had NO complaints with this set, its incredible to say the least.

but anyways i still hear the salesmen talk of how LCD is better this and that when i walk the isles at a big box store. was wondering if LCDS have evolved better then plasma or whatever?

is the new plasmas even better then like the pioneers of the samsung 5084 age?

i was at target the other day and they have a big sony 1080p bravia lcd and man i must say the blacks were as dark as night.

i have a olevia 42inch lcd in my bedroom but the PQ isnt the best.

You can always upgrade any technology but when do you stop? I'll put my Samsung 5053 up against any plasma. I have had 2 calibrators look at it and say the PQ is as good as anything they have seen. Must have got a good one.

lcd will never be better than plasma. you can never open a door and move a liquid better than you can blink a colored light. A correctly calibrated plasma will look 3d with good content. you should feel absolutely great that you own a great tv.
