Hello, I am trying to buy some crystal wedges. I use a Mitsubishi HC3000U w/ vertical stretch. What size wedges should I purchase? 4x6 or 5x7?

These seem to be the cheapest I found. Any idea on these?

which, I've seen in many threads.

Please advice. Thank you

Buy the smallest you can to minimize the weight as they are fairly heavy. You need to make sure the wedges are large enough to support the beam of light put out by the PJ. Easiest way to do this is hold up a piece of paper about 6-8" (distance will vary on the wedge angle and enclosure you make) in front of the PJ lens and see what size 16:9 square it makes.

Thank you JD! Wow, that is a very easy way to figure out the size.
I will report when I go home and see it.

But does it matter if its coated or non coated? Non coated seems pretty cheap, actually, half the price than coated.

I believe the coating mainly helps with reflections. Mine are not coated and I do have some reflections but they are not distracting to me. YMMV.

Yes, the coating reduces reflections and as many stated here on the forums just using black electrical tape on the top and base (as if it were standing up) reduces the reflections as well.

I'm using the wedges from Precision Crystal and am very happy with them. Mark the owner states that he buys the best wedges as he uses a laser to etch (sub-surface) the wedge and needs perfectly flat glass. Check my sig for my HT and see the pics of these wedges in action.

Which of the trophy companies offer the AR coating on the wedges? How much extra do they charge for the coatings?
