Finally ready to purchase my own "piece together" 5.1 home theater audio system. I'm a big Polk fan so here's what I'm looking at:
Fronts - Polk Monitor 60
Center Channel - Polk CS2
Surrounds - Polk Monitor 40
Receiver - Onkyo SR606
Sub - Polk PSW505
These will be paired with a 61" Samsung LED-DLP and a PS3.
All items can be had for under $1500 at amazon as of today. Any comments and or suggestions would be greatly appreciated. Thanks in advance

Nice, I think you'll be very happy with this. I have the "little brother" to this setup, with the Monitor 50 for fronts, the CS2 center and Monitor 30's for side surrounds. I have the Onkyo 605 receiver. A couple of suggestions. 1st, look into the Yamaha 663 receiver. If I were spending the money today, I'd probably get that one over the 606, and you can get it for around $350 from 6th Ave.
Also, from the research I've done, I get the impression that while people like Polk speakers, they aren't as fond of their subs, and that there are better bang-for-the-buck options. I have an older Velodyne sub that I'm generally happy with, but I've been looking at the Elemental Designs A2 - 300 Subwoofer. that particular model gets a lot of praise, the price is very reasonable, and the specs look quite impressive for the price range.
Just be sure to set aside enough time to get things dialed in to go with your room and you should have a great system without breaking the bank, I'm quite happy with mine, and its a step below what you're looking at...

No kidding set aside some time... especially if you order that sub; I did and I'm going on 3 weeks now for my wait time. It finally shows that it's in the paint shop.

What do you like about the 663 over the 605?

Sorry for the late reply, but here goes.... First, I think the 606 addresses this shortcoming, but the 605 is not able to turn a 5.1 source over HDMI into 7.1 output, the 663 can. That is actually a feature I miss quite a bit. Also, I can personally attest to the heat issues with Onkyo receivers such as the 605. Two repairs so far. When healthy, I really like the 605, but I wish it could turn 5.1 into 7.1 and heat is an issue. those two factors tip my opinion to the 663 in this price space.
