Like the subject says, does anyone see any benefits in running a 480i feed from, say, an Oppo 971 to an noise/block reducer like the Mosquito/Flea prior to a VP?
I have a Mosquito (non-HDMI) and am currently running my cable box to it prior to the VP, and the unit does wonders to SD broadcast. Currently my Oppo971 outputs to the VP via HDMI. If there are benefits to be had by going to the Mosquito first then I'll output via component to it then the VP. If that is the case, then I have a problem with the audio feed. I have a Harmony 880 remote and don't want to have to into the VP (DVDO VP30) device menu and manually change the audio input when switching sources on the Mosquito. Not to mention my wife will never approve of that as she will never be able to figure it out. My question then is, are there any detrimental effects to splitting the output from the Mosquito with a Y-adapter and running it into two separate inputs on the VP - this way I can configure the audio for each? Or is this all more trouble than it's worth? I don't have a receiver that can be controlled to switch the audio so that is out of the equation.
Any input is appreciated. Thanks.
Andy
