Well, folks!

Stuff just doesn't last anymore! My old Sony crt unit ran strong for over 10 years, and never failed me! Then I moved onto DLP and bulb machines!

I finally bought a new bulb for my once great working 4805, only to find that now the lamp fan controller is screwed! The fan will kick on at first, then just keeps making startup noises. It appears it is just not getting enough juice, and it wants to go but just doesn't! It throws a great picture still, and I love the machine, but it will overheat and shut down. I really don't feel like tearing into this machine to fix it, and am now stuck with a new bulb!

Should I just sell the machine and new bulb, and move onto another machine?

What native 16:9 projector is there with a decent price point, that I can get into to replace my Infocus 4805?

Any advice is greatly appreciated

Well my light tunnel went out on mine. I tried to fix it and now the panel allignment is off. I ended up getting a Epson 1080UB along with the rest of my theater equipment. For what its worth, I still have my 4805 and would able to help you out with parts.

Kind of hard to make a suggestion without knowing how much you want to spend.

As little as possible! Of course!

Well would have to stay under a grand! I did see that Optoma hd65 for 849.00?? The specs look right on as well!

I just looked on Ebay, and you can get one for under 700.00!

Where is the best/cheapest place to get one??
