I got a plv-z5 it's up to 2700hour, just change the bulb because I tought it was the problem.

At the right edge of the screen there's a 3-4inch thick redish stripe and the same thing but in blue at the left edge.

It's really apparent, and it seem to be growing slowly.

Any idea what it can be?

First off, a lamp will never cause any issues such as you describe. Of course, you found that out. But for anyone else reading this, the only problem a lamp will create is reduced brightness/contrast as it ages. Any localized color issues, lines, anything is going to be anywhere but the lamp.

Now, your problem sounds like either a polarizer issue or a shift in the alignment of the optics. It would help to see an image of your problem. An alignment shift does not involve the LCD panels, you would see the image deconverge if that were the case. The optics BEFORE the LCD panels can be misaligned and create the problem your describing.

Do I think it's that? It wouldn't be my first choice. The alignment is mechanical and unless you dropped the projector or someone went in and tampered with the optics, it's not likely. But I don't rule it out. I would look at the polarizers first. If they're at fault, the only cure is to have them replaced. That is, if they're available. You may find that the option open is the entire optical assembly, which is far too expensive to consider.

One thought that just occurred to me...is this projector still under warranty? If it is, get it in for repairs.

The lens integrator is out of alignment. You probably need to get it serviced.

Thanks for the information, I highly doubt it's an alignment shift. My projector has still a year of warranty, so I guess, I will be using it.
