I'm thinking of upgrading from a diy screen to a retail screen, I am using my pj for hd material, blue ray, ps3, and xbox360. The room has ambient light during the day but can be darken with curtains, whats a good match for my setup and one that is not too expensive. I want to enhance my hd content. My diy does not seem to show the true picture of my epson. thanks

Describe your DIY screen? What about the screen do you hope to improve?
Screens are pretty darn personal as far as subjectivity goes. I have a mantra on screens.. "when in doubt go matte white"... :)
its a matte white screen bought from ebay. guy side it was cut material for theater screens. had gains for 1.4 or 1.0 but i couldn't tell which side was the higher gain. wondering if a silver screen would help in enhancing the hd content i watch.
What size image are you wanting to project and what is your throw distance?

There is a guy on Ebay selling custom made screens. I really wanted a Carada and ran across this guy. For $400 he built me a velvet custom frame made with DaLite Pearlescent material for a gain of 1.5. My pj is a low lumen Mits HC3000. I paid $400 shipped to my door and believe the screen is fantastic. If you can live with a lower gain screen he makes them for about $180. This guy has thousands of all positive feedback on his screens. I priced the same size screen and material thru DaLite and it was roughly $1000.
My screen is about 100 inch diagonal and my throw is about 13 ft. would you know the ebay id for the guy that made the screens?

I use a 110" Carada BW screen. I think it is fantastic and the quality is great. It has a 1.4 gain. Not sure what is your budget though?
