I have recently purchased a Philips 52PFL7403D/27. The 52" 120hz 1080p lcd tv. From the first moment, in HD Cable broadcasts, the left 1" of the screen looks like it is offset upwards 1/8th of an inch vertically.

It is as if you took a paper photograph, cut off 1" of the left side, then taped it back together, except the 1" strip was offset, upwards, by 1/8th of an inch.

I switched around the hdmi cables and changed the input plugs, but the picture seems to follow what is broadcast from HD cable channels.

I know, this sounds like a cable company problem, but here's the thing - I upgraded from a Sharp 45" 1080i and there was no problem.

Also, I don't know if this is related, but there is also a small adjustment needed horizontally and vertically when I switch from dvd movies to tv, be it sdtv or hdtv. ie: if I center a dvd picture, there will be a small green line, (about 1/8"), on the right of the screen when I switch to cable tv mode. Then I move the screen horizontally to the right and its centered again. Reverse for switching to dvds.

Thanks for reading, and thanks if you have any ideas.

Could one of you administrators delete this thread for me? I thought I could do it but don't see how. I re-posted this in the thread on this particular tv.

Thanks,

Walter
