Hey guys,

My wife is pregnant and home on semi-bedrest.
I was looking for a game or two for her to help pass the time. I was thinking of some type of puzzle games would be good, but she has enjoyed a little Halo in the past, so anything easy and fun would be great.
Thanks

Damn, I was going to come in with "hide the salami", but it appears that bridge has been crossed.:D

Looked at a Nintendo DS?

My wife loves Puzzle Quest (so do I :D ). Probably one of the best puzzle games for the 360! Definitely try out the demo on XBLA.

She was also a big fan of Fable 1 and Viva Pinata, should be able to pick those up cheap.

Mass Effect.
Approachable time killer with a touch of Halo.
The ladies I've seen playing it all tend to go straight for the Renegade approach. :-)

Try Beautiful Katamari. There's a demo available.

hexic is pretty addictive and free. You can get world series of poker 2007 for under ten bucks and it has open tables, tourney's etc. Puzzle quest is a good time. May be over her head, but oblivion gets addictive even for newbs. I'd force feed her that game

First of all, you are both fortunate to have each other. You - a wife who is into video games. And she is lucky to have a husband seeking advice on games for her. That is so hot!

I'm a woman who loves sports. I would suggest some sports games. If she isn't into that try Xbox live. Super Bubble Pop might be a cute play on words.

If you want to score big points, just rent her a variety of games and surprise her with them. Good luck to both of you!!!!

If you're going to game together, the Lego or Marvel games could be good.

I agree. I love the Marvel game! I love both being able to play at the same time "as a team".

My wife is sooooooo addicted to Pogo that I dont have to worry about her wanting any console time.:D

The only game I've ever been able to get her to play on a console is Hot Shots Golf-Out of Bounds on the PS3. She's pretty damn good at it also. There's nothing that she's come across on the 360 at this poiont that she's really interested in.

I'm sure she'd enjoy some of the solitare games or the backgammon game. Uno would be another one she'd probably play (no cameras.... LOL).

I'm yet to play any of the Lego games.... I may need to get one via Goozex. Which would be the best one to start with?

My wife enjoys RPGs, a few puzzles.. but nothing beats RPG for timewasters. She has no interest in finding games for herself, so it's always up to me to figure out games she might like and downloading demos for her, etc.

I was going to pop on this thread to say watch out for the penis reference but hey that didnt take long to resolve. Oh well this forum(xbox) is most likely a good decade younger than most the rest.(full disclosure, wish I was also:D) Anyways Viva Pinata is a borderline sure hit with her:)

There's no real starting point for the Lego games, just get whatever movies you prefer. Marvel is top down, same screen.

Thanks for answering my questions..... I went with LEGO Star Wars: The Complete Saga

Looked to be the best bang for the buck game, even though it's 750 points.

The Lego games are great. You can play them as one player and the computer playing the helper or two players working together. I have played Indiana Jones, Star Wars, and Batman with my 8 and 5 year old daughters and they love them. Your wife and yourself can play through the story mode and then she can go back through in free play to get the remaining goals.

Viva Pinata - either the 1st one or the 2nd The 2nd is superior, but the 1st is a lot cheaper used. :)

Zuma and arcade games in general are great for fast pick up & play.

Another way to go is something like Movie Scene or Jeapordy.

My wife is like yours...

Mostly older style games, but enjoys a little Halo.

Mine was addicted to Tiger Woods Golf.

I also recommend Bomberman (arcade version) and Carcassonne.

If she wants a more 'restful' situation, then the 'stress' of shooters/racers may not be the best idea.

The 1st step is to look at Arcade games, from Hexic, hexic 2, Bejeweled, bejewed 2, Carcasone, Uno, Backgammon, Hearts, (maybe Texus Holdem) Bankshot billiards. I am sure there are many more 'mindless' yet relaxing games.

Viva Pinata may be the perfect game. It is actually pretty hard, and after a few levels gets to complex for youngsters.

Scene it (with Scene it 2 comming soon).

I think the new on-line gameshow games (like 1 vs 100 etc) might also be fun.

Oblivion is not stressful, it can be slow paced, and very detailed.

Then again, if she needs to vent a little, you can alway get her Gears of War and have her chainsaw a few people......:D

Oh my gosh, I cant belive no one has mentioned TETRIS.

My wife is hooked on Tetris and played it a lot when she was pregnant. I believe there is three different Tetris versions for the Xbox. We have Tetris Evolution.

My wife got hooked for about an hour yesterday (that's as long as she'll play any game) on the "King" style in Geometry Wars 2, especially once we started playing co-op.

Viva Pinata... :)

Okay so it has been suggested about a million times... but I'll add it again. Definitely a great "time waster" as it's a pretty damn long game if you like to do everything. Comes off as a kids game... but definitely ramps up the difficulty.

I can't believe that no one has mentioned Braid. AWESOME Xbox arcade game. There's a demo out there.

This one will keep anyone busy - male or female. The music is very relaxing as well so this should be a big winner for you.

Good luck with the baby.

My fiancee is obcessed with COD4. We bought a second 360 just to play together but we are still shopping for a compatible router that accepts two 360s on one connection.

about 3 months ago, my wife saw me playing Lumines, and she thought it was stupid...I let her play one round, and now she's hooked.

She also plays Scene It, DOA: Beach Volleyball, E4, and Hardwood Spades...

She's also addicted to Cooking Mama on the Wii...

Try fable 2. According to Sessler its an accessible game for those who dont really understand gaming, like his wife.

My wife is LOVING Fable 2. Of course, she's a female character and wearing a lingerie top and hotpants so everyone in town whistles as she walks by. :D

wife loves kameo and fable 2

SCWells72
10-27-08, 04:59 PM
Yeah, I was about to mention Kameo, too. My wife loves Zelda and Zelda-like games. I actually include Fable and Fable II in that category even though it has significantly more RPG elements than Zelda, but there's a similar feel in terms of graphics, controls, and scope of things to do. She also wants to play Okami on the Wii which she watched me play occasionally on the PS2. She loved Pikmin on the Gamecube, so I was thinking she might like either Overlord or Viva Pinata as well.
