I recently got a D-Link DGL-4300 Gaming Router and it works great with all three consoles.

it's kinda hard finding the older Linksys routers, you would probably have a much better chance finding the newer ones, like the WRT54G2 that replaced the WRT54G. it's basically the newer version, with an internal antenna opposed to the 2 external antenna's, and also has a lower profile...

I've used the DGL-4300 for over a yr. now and it's the best budget router I've ever used. I keep 2 consoles, 2-3 wireless laptops,3 wired desktops, and a Slingbox connected. No issues at all. Rock solid. Many nice features for the savvy as well.

:D

I've been very happy with my Dlink DGL-4300 and actually bought it to replace a WRT54G which seemed to run too hot and had to be rebooted every other month. Also, I had some problems with EA sports games using the Linksys.

The DGL has been nothing but reliable for me, my only complaint is how bright the blue LEDs are! :)

I forgot about the LEDs. They are VERY bright. I keep a stack of Blu-rays in front of the router to be able to sleep at night.

so is everyone leaning toward the d-link over any linksys router? i would be using a pc wired, and a xbox, wii, and maybe a laptop wirelessly.

Another vote for DGL-4300. It can handle everything and the kitchen sink. Tons of options for configuration too.

Damm, I was just getting rdy to pull the trigger on the WRT54G2..back to the drawing board.

I wanna run my PC wired, ps3 wired or wireless, 360 wired and PSP...my only reason to get a wireless router is for the psp and I need it to be as painless as possible

I put small trimmed pieces of electrical tape over mine a yr ago and there has not been any adverse affect. they are pretty frickin bright in a dark room if you don't cover them up.

Forget about having two 360s running Live at the same time with the WRT54GS. I have the WRT54GL and it is even flashed with a 3rd party firmware and the UPnP will not let our two 360s on at the same time.

The WRT54GS and the GL are the same router. The GS has a some software tweaks for the speedbooster and the GL runs Linux so you can flash it.

I have the 4300. 2 360's, a wireless desktop and wireless laptop with no issues. Works great with torrents when set up correctly. I used to have to pause the torrents to play online, but not any more. The router can be set up to prioritize gaming over torrents whenever the band width is needed.

While we're on the topic, what firmware and tweaks do you DGL-4300 owners recommend?

I believe all i did was disabled some dynamic fragmentation setting which was required to support xbox live. Newer firmwares may not need that change. I'm not at home so I couldn't tell you which firmware I'm running at the moment.
