I hope I'm posting this in the correct area :).

I am having issues watching "internet tv" from media center via the 360 extender. I can watch recorded tv just fine. I have opened all the correct ports (even through it into the DMZ) but continue to get this error message:

Video Error
Files needed to display video are not installed or not working correctly. Please restart Windows Media Center or restart the computer

when I try and play an episode of Arrested Development. It plays just fine on the pc...just does not play well with the 360 . My setup is Vista PC hardwired to router (linksys wrt54g).

Any help would be much appreciated.

Thanks in advance.

1- What format are those files in?
2- Have you tried streaming via Zune/WMP?
Just because it plays on the PC doesn'r mean it can play on an extender; since your recorded TV shows (In MS-DVR format) play fine, odds are its a codec issue not a connectivity issue.

Fj, thanks for responding. I actually did get it working though. Not sure what finally got it working but the two big changes I made were:

1. did all the optional updates via windows update (roughly 5)
2. "completely" shut down windows firewall (ie, I had it shut down for my profile but upon looking at settings there were two other spots it needed to be turned off).
