I dont know if this is the right section but im new to this forum and need help, or atleast get pointed in the right direction... So im trying to set up a home theater system i have the receiver and the speakers and my tv.... BUT, my tv only has a coaxial cable input and 2 spots for audio/video input.... So i cant get the sound from my tv to the receiver... Does anyone know of any solutions to this.. Ive been trying to research this myself by looking at modulators and converters but cant find what im looking for... Is there an answer to this problem?

Do you have an antenna, cable or sat? If you have cable or sat box the sound output from that would be used.

If you use an antenna direct to your TV and the TV doesn't have an audio out connector of some sort you will need to get a new TV.

What you need is an atsc receiver/tuner. That will have video and audio outputs.

Those are your options. (Besides the impractical one of digging into you TV to extract the audio from the internal circuits. That's best left to an expert with detailed understanding of the TV schematic).
