The wife wants a wall mounted TV in the office so I am taking the opportunity to get "us" a nice plasma. I would like 42 inches or so and I would really like the have the 120Hz refresh in something reputable, I was thinking along the lines of a Panasonic or Samsung, but was wondering if you guys had any input on this, maybe another way I should go. This tv will see HGTV, wii, and a little PS2 but games are only on the side, since I have a theater for that. Room is lime green but it is dark so I know I can get away with a plasma.

Thanks

Isn't 120 hz an LCD thing?

Panasonic 42px80 (768p) and 42pz80 (1080p) are what you should be looking at. Easily found under 1k.

I think you are right Dave. Sorry about that. I'll probably end up with the 42pz80, espically if I can find it during a really good sale. Unless there is something I should be checking out as well, otherwise I think I am set.

i have had the px80 since about april and i am totally satisfied with it. i couldnt ask for a better quality product. i use it for tv and xbox 360 and it is wonderful. great picture quality, the colors and contrast are amazing, and the remote/setup is quite easy to use.

should just get a px80....No reason to get the pzWhat if he sits close enough to the screen that he needs it to be 1080p? What if he would like to have the Size 1/Size 2 feature that the PX80U does not have? What if he want's better black levels that the PZ80U has? What if he would like to have the better processing that the PZ80U has?

If he's willing to spend the extra hundred or two then why not get the better TV?

I'll probably go for the PZ80U since I will only be about 4-5 ft from the TV at a time, plus the added CR, I am hopeing for a nice sale to put this one over the top since christmas is coming up. Depending on how cheap I am feeling at the time of course. Although it doesnt matter since the only HD content I will have on it will be cable and xbox360, but I am going to check them out in the store this weekemd, I will see what I can work out.

I came across this at my local warehouse store and I was wondering what the difference between the one they are selling here (http://www.costco.com/Browse/Product.aspx?Prodid=11292507&whse=BC&Ne=4000000&eCat=BC|79|2341|3314|74670&N=4018655&Mo=4&No=4&Nr=P_CatalogName:BC&cat=74670&Ns=P_Price|1||P_SignDesc1&lang=en-US&Sp=C&hierPath=79*2341*3314*74670*&topnav=) and the one panasonic has on the website here (http://www2.panasonic.com/consumer-electronics/shop/Televisions/VIERA-Plasma-HDTVs/model.TH-42PZ80U.S_11002_7000000000000005702#tabsection). I see that the weights are different so I was wondering if there would be a picture difference, any knowledge would be appreciated.

Also what is a good articulating wall mount for any of the 42-50 inch pannys. I want to be able to angle and move foward.

Thanks

Aside from the addition of the PC input and the flat black bezel color on the Costco model, these two TVs are internally identical with identical picture quality.

I was aware those were the TVs you indicated earlier I just wanted to make sure the warehouse version didnt compromise picture quality. Thanks. Now all I need to do is decide on an articulateing arm and Ill be buying and setting this thing up this weekend.
