Hello, I am new to this forum and hopefully can get a little help. After retiring from the phone company after 30 years working with Central Office and computer equiptment. I thought I would put a whole house A/V system together. Over the last two years I have put together an Elan S12 system with tuners,XM,Via screens, etc. Unfortunately for me I didn't understand the software issues until well into this project. I do have a learner and Viatools and have programmed the S12 and screens easily enough. My problem is the SC-4. I cannot get a response from it and am trying to deterimine if I bought a defective unit. When I try to do a firmware update I get an SC-4 not found message. The PWR and Network Status lights come on when powered up. My SC-4 came without any cables so I just bought a generic 6 pin din to db9 adapter that I thought would work. So basically at this point I don't know what to try next. Like I said before, I did not know going into this what I was getting myself into and if I had it to do over again I probably would have gone a different route. If there are any installers in the Denver area that would like to give me advice or even be available to hire I would love to hear from you. Thank you all in advance.
